Classroom Buddies Volunteer Opportunity

The 1619 Project Education Action Circle’s mission is to improve academic opportunities and outcomes for black students. 

The Circle's "Classroom Buddies" program is seeking volunteers interested in assisting in Findley or King Elementary Schools. Findley is looking caring adults to listen to students read aloud for 30 minutes to an hour. 

Findley volunteers can submit preferred day/time or participate through the United Way’s “Everybody Wins” reading program, which is Tuesdays from 9:30 – 10:00. 

King in interested in volunteers who could assist teachers by handling tasks such as copying, cutting, sorting materials.
