Check-in Kiosk

All children should be checked in to church school before worship begins, using our digital check-in kiosks located on the first and second floors near the west elevators. The check-in station will print a name tag for your child with a matching security label for their parent/caregiver.

Pre-K to Kindergarten | 9 - 10 a.m.

Pre-K (ages 3-5) and Kindergarten classes begin at 9 a.m. in their classrooms on the first floor – please drop off your child between 8:45 – 9 a.m. after checking them in. These classes will be rotating between their classrooms and a new Godly Playroom with sensory and dramatic play stations that coordinate with their bible lessons.

  • Pre-k Classroom: Room 103

  • Kindergarten Classroom: Room 106

1st through 6th grades | 9:15 - 10 a.m.

Children in first through sixth grades will begin worship in the sanctuary with their families. Please make sure elementary students are checked in on the digital kiosk and receive their name tag before going into worship. When children are invited to Church School during worship, teachers and adult volunteers will accompany them to the third floor: 1st thru 4th grades will begin with a large group gathering time in Recital Hall before going to their separate classrooms; 5th and 6th grades will go directly to their classroom.

Pick-up from Classrooms

All classes end at 10 a.m. immediately after worship. If picking up multiple children, we suggest that you begin with the youngest. Children in 2nd grade and younger are dismissed to a designated adult only. Please do not send older siblings to pick up younger children. Students in grades 3-6 can be dismissed on their own with written permission and can meet you at the location of your choosing.

Please Volunteer

Church School is only possible with your help! We are asking families to volunteer with Church School at least two times each semester. Adults and youth in 7th grade and up may volunteer. All adults aged 18 and over who work with children and teens must first complete a background screening, which must be renewed every two years. To check the status of your background screening, please contact Samantha Whalen.

Initiate a background screening: Background Screening Request Form

Safety Policy: We also have a new safety policy for those who work with infants, children or teens. After reading the policy, please sign here to acknowledge you have received and read the policy.

Progressive Theology

You will see us use Bible stories and also science, history and human reasoning to help support children’s thinking creatively and openly about our still-speaking God. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of all of our learners. And we try to find ways children and families can apply what is learned in Church School into their lives at home and in the community.

Church school curriculum offers opportunities for children to learn stories, pray together, ask questions, and create friendships. Depending on the lesson, you may notice children:  hearing or acting out a Bible story; taking part in creative prayer; having lively discussion; talking about self-care; dancing, singing, playing games, creating art or exploring the church.
