April 5: Iowa Sacred Harp Singing Convention

Learn how to sing Early American shape-note music on Saturday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

An instructional singing school takes place at 9 a.m. before the convention begins at 9:30 a.m.

Bring a dish for the potluck lunch at noon, a part of the Sacred Harp tradition.

All are welcome, and no prior experience is needed. The event is free and open to all. Bring a Sacred Harp hymnal or borrow a book that will be provided.

Observers are welcome, too!
