Our Faith, Our Vote

The United Church of Christ’s Our Faith Our Vote Campaign is our denomination’s ongoing commitment to equip people with the tools for nonpartisan faithful engagement in our democratic process.

The 2024 campaign asks us to answer the call of 1 John 3:18 to “let us not love with words or speech, but in action and in truth,” by voting with love.

As we discern the choices on the ballots coming before us in November, let us answer this call at all levels by voting with love for creation, for our neighbors both here and abroad, for a just peace, and for repair and reconciliation of the brokenness of our nation.

It is fitting for local congregations and church structures across the country to develop nonpartisan programs to help the faith community reflect upon the political order. Engaging in politics is as very real way of impacting the pressing justice issues of our time. Political processes are the way communities organize their common life.

As people of faith, it is our duty to “speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy” (Proverbs 31:8-9). Let us use our vote to protect and provide for those around us.

The UCC’s Our Faith Our Vote campaign is now underway. To follow along, help get out the vote, find your polling place, and volunteer this election season, click here.
