RENEW: English Language Tutors Needed!

The RENEW Adult English Language Learners  program helps support the church mission to grow in the love of God, neighbor and creation by teaching adult English language learners.

We partner volunteer tutors with adult learners to meet their English language goals or study for Citizenship classes. Most tutors work with only 1 or 2 students at a time, either Wednesday mornings 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. or Saturday afternoons 3 p.m.-5 p.m. in the 3rd floor classrooms at Plymouth.

We have an immediate need for 3-4 volunteers, especially on Saturdays.  If you are able to help right away, contact Melissa Johnson at 515-681-7143 and leave a message or email melkny@yahoo.com. 

If you would like to know more, we are having a RENEW celebration of the Fall semester on Saturday, Dec. 16 3 p.m.- 5 p.m. in Room 305. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering, please come watch class from 3 p.m.- 4 p.m. and then join us to celebrate and have snacks. 

We are also looking for additional RENEW Leadership team members.  We meet on the 2nd Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in Room 305. This team helps to market the program, recruit teachers, screen new students and match them to volunteers, and keep the program running.
